DAVE DOBSON Dave
has been involved with driver education and driver
training for over 25 years. As a serving Police
Officer he worked in the Road Policing Department
dealing with complex Road Traffic Legislation. He
was also involved in the investigation of serious
and fatal road collisions.
Part of this work involved delivering presentations
to members of the public, schools and other organisations
on driver safety. He was also involved in many Road
Safety campaigns through enforcement and education
to deal with inconsiderate motorists. Today people
still campaign for safety on the A61 Harrogate to
Ripon Road. Dave led one of the first campaigns
over 20 years ago. |

Dave was trained to the Police Class 1 standard of driving
for cars and motorcycles. He also received additional
training in VIP escorting, trailer towing, minibus driving
and covert surveillance driving/riding techniques. He
has been actively involved in a number of motorcycle road
safety initiatives, including The Edge and Bikesafe. Today
Dave still assists members of the North Yorkshire Police
to deliver their Bikesafe lectures and on road assessments. |

Dave's passion for safer driving led to his involvement
with the Institute of Advanced Motorists. He was involved
in the formation of the Harrogate Group in April 1983.
Dave is an examiner for advanced driving tests on behalf
of the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) and ROSPA
for cars, vans, minibuses and motorcycles. Since 1987
he has examined in excess of one thousand drivers or riders.
You can guarantee that if Dave believes you have good
driving skills, he knows what he is talking about. |

Dave qualified as a Driving Standards Agency (DSA) Approved
Driving Instructor (ADI) in September 2007. In November
2007 he qualified as a Driving Standards Agency Fleet
Driver Trainer. In April 2008 he achieved a Grade 6 rating
on his first check test, conducted by the Driving Standards
Agency. This is the top grade awarded by the DSA and confirms
the quality of instruction you will receive. |

Apart from delivering his own driver training Dave is
also called upon by other driver training companies to
deliver training in the Yorkshire area. This work includes
High Performance Driving and Handling Skills, Fleet Driver
Training and Blue Light Training. He is also called upon
to deliver presentations to drivers and riders as an alternative
to prosecution for minor traffic infringements and marginal
speeding offences. (Rider Intervention and Speed Awareness).
Dave also assists a local company to deliver Off Road
Motorcycle training and Motorcycle Handling Skills training. |

Dave believes in quality and not quantity. You may not
find any bonus offers to attract you as a customer but
you will receive Class 1 service and training. Check out
the competition and prices before you commit. Remember
anyone can deliver Advanced Motorcycle Training without
any qualifications. Any DSA Approved Driving Instructor
can deliver Advanced Driver Training even if they have
not done it themselves. Check out their grades and qualifications.
Dave can offer his customers an insurance discount scheme
in association with Adrian Flux, in recognition of his
quality of training and commitment to road safety. |

If you employ drivers in your work Dave has a wealth
of experience in Road Traffic Legislation and dealing
with incidents and collisions on the roads. Risk Assessments
were a major part of his Police work and he can advise
and assist you to ensure that your policies and procedures
adequately cover your drivers. This could mean the difference
between compliance or prosecution under the Health and
Safety Acts and UK Corporate Manslaughter Bill, following
a work-related incident. |
