A motorcycle is the ideal way to explore the open road.
North Yorkshire hosts some of the best biking roads in
the country; unfortunately too many riders never live
long enough to fulfil their dreams, these roads claiming
their lives.
Having spent many years investigating these collisions
one pattern emerged. It was not a road defect or machine
fault which led to these serious injuries or death but
the actions of the rider. Lots of these collisions were
avoidable.
At UPTWOSPEED our aim is
to make you aware of how your machine reacts to your input.
How you maintain stability during all
types of road and weather conditions, whilst making lawful
progress and having fun.

Safety is paramount and a great deal
of importance is placed on defensive riding
skills, taking into account contingency
plans and escape routes, to prepare you for that
unknown event. These skills may one day save your
life. Our riding sessions are not patronising. You
will ride your own machine, the one you love and
treasure.
Each session commences with a friendly assessment
of your current knowledge, techniques, skills, ability
and experience. This allows us to tailor the session
to your requirements, ensuring you benefit fully
from your investment and we do not waste time covering
things that you are already aware of. |

Each session is based on your individual needs allowing
you to gel with your machine, focusing on safety,
stability and observations
whilst maintaining progress. By the end
of your time with Uptwospeed you will have more knowledge
about the stability of your bike on the road and how you
can upset this. You will have developed new skills in
advanced observation and anticipation
which improves your safety on the road. You will have
also developed cornering and overtaking
skills which will allow you to maintain progress when
others are slowed by these hazards.
